Ohhh to be a little darker...

Being pasty white in a relatively 'tan' country has its advantages and its disadvantages. I mean it's slightly awkward as our family of 4 walks down the street- clearly we don't fit in! But on the other hand my fair skinned, blonde haired girls (something the people here have NEVER seen before) do open up lots opportunities to talk to knew people. However, today is one of those days that I'm not feeling very thankful for my skin color! As we sit in the waiting room of the hospital waiting for a routine pregnancy check up, I'm wishing I were a bit tanner- and also that I spoke the language a bit better! We've been sitting here for almost 2 hours and new patients have come and gone and here we are- all 4 of us- still waiting! I'm not sure why-- I mean they don't make appointments and I was here first, but it doesn't matter, sometimes we just get bumped to the end of the line! Normally I'm pretty patient with things like this but right now I have got to pee! I'm pregnant, I always have to pee! But right not I can't go because the doctor wants my bladder full!!! Maybe, just maybe if I weren't a foreigner, I wouldn't be sitting here doing a pee-pee dance!!! Haha ok rant over!
